How openings are grouped
Each game counts once, under the opening it started with. Lichess names every game's opening; Chess.com names them its own way, so its games are matched to the same list. The list is the public Lichess opening list, which also gives each opening code (ECO) its main name. Lichess opening list

How do I find my worst chess opening?
Type your Chess.com or Lichess username and pick a time control. The checker reads your last 200 games in it and ranks your openings by results, as White and as Black, then names your worst and your best.
Where do the games come from?
Straight from Chess.com's and Lichess's public game archives, loaded in your browser. Nothing is sent to KingChess or saved.
Why are some of my openings missing?
An opening needs 5 games to be listed, and 10 to be called your best or worst. With fewer games the numbers say too little.
What's the difference between openings and variations?
An opening is the main name, like the Sicilian Defense. Variations are its branches, like the Najdorf. Grouping by opening puts more games in each row, so the numbers are steadier.
Why do Chess.com and Lichess name openings differently?
Each site keeps its own list. The checker sorts both into the same openings using the public Lichess opening list, so a Chess.com Alapin Sicilian counts as a Sicilian Defense.
How many games does it read?
Your last 200 games in the time control you pick. On Chess.com it looks back up to 12 months.
What can I do about an opening I keep losing with?
