Chess.com Game Review Alternatives (2026): More Reviews, or What Comes After

Chess.com's help center is plain about it: a Basic (free) membership gets one full Game Review a day. Platinum lifts the cap; Diamond adds coach explanations on every move. If one review a day is your problem, two tools below remove it for free. If the problem is that the review tells you what happened and then nothing changes, the last tool is built for that. This page keeps the two apart, because they are different problems.

What Chess.com gives you first

Before the alternatives, the baseline. Game Review classifies every move from Brilliant to Blunder, scores your accuracy, draws the evaluation graph and adds coach commentary. On Basic you get one a day. The review covers one game at a time; it does not connect the blunder in today's game to the same blunder last week, and nothing brings it back to you later. Every tool here shares that first limitation except one.

1. Lichess

Free forever, run by a non-profit. Export any Chess.com game as a PGN, paste it into Lichess, and request server analysis: deep Stockfish on 40 games a day, an unlimited analysis board, and "Learn from your mistakes" on the analysed game. Lichess also has Chess Insights, a statistics view of your play, but only for games played on Lichess.

Where it stops: the extra step. Every Chess.com game has to be exported and pasted by hand. There is no coach, and Learn from your mistakes quizzes you on one game, once.

Best for: the player who wants a second review of a specific game, free, and does not mind the copy and paste.

2. Chessigma

Enter your Chess.com username and your recent games load; the analysis runs in your browser on Stockfish 17, free, with no daily limit and no signup. Every move is graded and you get an accuracy score and an evaluation graph. Puzzles and a Woodpecker mode are on the free plan. The Froggy coach, the daily training plan, Blunder Fix and the Chess DNA report are on paid plans: C$20 a month or C$139 a year as shown in September 2026.

Where it stops: the coach is paid, and the training that reads your own games is paid. Free is the review and a general puzzle pool.

Best for: the player who mainly wants Game Review without the daily cap.

3. DecodeChess

A written explanation rather than a coach that talks: threats, plans, and why the alternatives fail, move by move. One decoded game a day is free. Unlimited game and position decodes with deeper explanations are $8.25 a month or $84 a year, with credit packs from $15.

Where it stops: it explains; it does not train. No drills, no schedule, no view across your games.

Best for: a careful read of one important game a week.

4. KingChess

The one built for after the review. Type your Chess.com username and your latest game is reviewed with no account: every move scored by Stockfish, the tactics marked on the board, what players at your rating actually play in the same positions, and Coach Bjorn explaining the moments that decided the game. The first half of the game is open to anyone; a free account opens the rest. That account reads your last 10 games, puts 10 of your blunders into a spaced-repetition drill rotation, and gives you 5 of Bjorn's explanations a day. Premium, at $5.99 a month or $35.99 a year, reads your last 300 games and every new one as you play, drills every blunder with no slot cap, puts Bjorn on every move (100 explanations a day) and opens the Career Report across your whole history.

Where it stops: it is not an unlimited free analyser. If your only complaint is the one-a-day cap, Lichess or Chessigma solves it for nothing. KingChess reviews your latest game free and your last 10 with an account, and it reads Chess.com and Lichess only; there is no PGN upload for game review.

Best for: the player who has noticed the same blunder in review after review and wants something that finds the pattern and drills it, with a coach from day one.

How to choose

Name the problem first. "I want to review more than one game a day" is solved for free by Lichess (with a paste) or Chessigma (with a username). "I want this one game explained properly" is DecodeChess. "I keep making the same mistake and the review keeps telling me so" is a different problem, and reviews alone do not fix it.
